Low Impact Aikido

Low Impact Aikido Class

Aikido is for people of all ages, body types, and physical condition.  This class is designed with a focus on mobility utilizing Aikido Kokikai® principles.  With a reduced emphasis on falls and throws, our Low Impact Aikido class is a great avenue for those looking for a less physically demanding way to explore the extended benefits of martial arts practice.

.
This morning class will help you develop skills to enhance relaxation, centering, and improve body movement.  You’ll learn the principles of Aikido Kokikai® and hopefully enjoy a different way of moving and relating to yourself and those you interact with.

The goals of these practices are to develop flexibility, coordination, increase range of motion, good posture, and maintain physical condition.  Each student will train at a level appropriate for their experience.  As always, if you have extenuating physical issues, please consult your doctor before starting.  All techniques, both individual and partner practice, are done to fully develop the student’s abilities while forging a strong foundation in the basics of how and why Aikido works.

So come have fun in a safe, constructive environment. Get in shape. Build confidence. Improve your focus and enhance personal safety as a long-term side benefit.  Those interested may also choose to participate in our normal classes for a more complete exploration of Aikido Kokikai®.

Our dojo is a safe, inclusive, and respectful space. You’ll want to wear loose clothing that covers your knees and elbows to class (We have locker rooms to change if needed).

New Students and existing members are all welcome.  Free two week trial for new members.
