The Dark Side
3/24, 8pm (brown belts & up)
The Homework Assignment http://www.bugei.com/virtue.html
Please mark your calendars for April 5 with a big star! We will be hosting brown belt testing in our dojo for two RIT students. This is a very special event. Please plan to attend - both to uke and to cheer these students as they demonstrate their technique.
Congrats to Rob Jacob. He has qualified for the Boston Marathon with a time of 3:30:14. It sounds like it was a heroic effort as he reported he had to stop a mile 23 for a bit with a stitch in his side. But he made the finish line with 45 seconds to spare on a qualifying time.
Mike Hillenbrand will be teaching our first mind/body class of the new year on Saturday, March 22 at 11 am. Members and family/significant others are invited to attend.
Mike's mind body will cover some basic Shiatsu technique and simple applications for the head and shoulder region as well as some self shiatsu (no partner needed).
Winter Camp 2008 is complete. A good group of people from Rochester attended and Sensei was at his best. On Saturday, March 15, we will have a special focus in the 10 am class on material from Camp.
February 28 was Jim Lahue's last evening class in the dojo. So many students and instructors showed up to wish him off that we had to splice together two photos to get everyone. Jim has decided to stop aikido practice to pursue a personal journey. We all deeply appreciate his many years of service as co-chief instructor and wish him the best.
