Labor Day Classes

On Monday, September 3rd, we will be holding the evening classes but not the morning.  So the 7am is cancelled and the 6pm and 7 pm will be held.

Seminar with Rick Goodman Sensei, 7th Dan-

Please join us September 28-30, 2012 for an aikido seminar, featuring guest instructor Rick Goodman Sensei, 7th dan and chief instructor of Aikido Kokikai Flemington, NJ.

Schedule:

Friday 9/28 @ Eastern Sky –

   7:00 pm-8:30 pm (all ranks)

Saturday 9/29 @ Kokikai Rochester –

   10:00 am-12 noon (all ranks)

   1:30 pm-3:00 pm (all ranks)

   3:00 pm-4:00 pm (brown & black belts)

Sunday 9/30 @ Eastern Sky –

   10:00 am-12 noon (all ranks)

Cost: $60 full seminar or $30 per class

Note:

• A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Kokikai Camp Mat Fund.

• Students should bring weapons to every class

Men’s Locker Room – Volunteer Needed!

We're looking for a volunteer(s) to weed out the junk in the men’s locker room.

This task needs to be completed before Rick Goodman Sensei’s visit at the end of September.

We need someone to take on the task of diposing of the various cans of paint that have been stored in the men's locker room under the big shelf.

Free Stuff!

In an effort to weed out some things we don't need in the dojo...

The following items are up for grabs, first come first serve:

(2) Upright vacuum cleaners  - GONE!
(1) Bamboo stand (use to have the Principles on it)
(1) Old, old foldable, 4 Principles - GONE!
(3) Plastic chairs (2-white,1-green, see Marcella) - GONE!

If the items are not gone within the week I will make arrangements to donate them to the VOA or the Salvation Army.

Volunteer needed to take apart the old shomen-

We have a volunteer!

Demetrius Demetris is going to disassemble the old shomen this Sunday during open mat.

Now that the new mat is in and camp is over it’s time to get down to business and get the dojo back in order.

We’re looking for a volunteer to carefully take apart the old shomen. The wood will be saved and re-purposed. We are hoping the wood can be used to make a “toy box” for mat side under the makiwara, an additional volunteer opportunity.

Is anyone willing to take on this task and complete it within the next two weeks?

We will have video of the tests and be taking a group picture on the new mat so please come if you can!
